Austin City Limits Music Festival, often referred as ACL, is a three-day musical event that takes place each year in October at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. It has become one of the most popular music festivals in the United States, attracting over 70,000 music fans each year. Tickets sell out quickly once the opening of ticket sales is announced on the ACL web site. Ticket must be exchanged for a wrist band that will allow the wearer to be admitted to ACL events.

Some may think that the Austin City Limits Music Festival has been in Austin for decades, since the beginning of the television series, but in reality it was started in 2002. It was an immediate success with 75,000 attendees that first year. ACL was designed to have the same kind of eclectic music that is featured on the very popular Austin City Limits television show. This show has been broadcast on Public Broadcasting Stations since 1976 and is now the longest running music series in American television history. The Austin City Limits studios will be declared a Rock and Roll Landmark by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on October 1, 2010. The same musicians who perform on the television show often also appear at the Austin City limits music festival along with many others.
