The Braves had most of their success in Atlanta where they won 14 straight divisional titles from 1991-2005 and in 1995 they brought the city of Atlanta their first championship beating the Cleveland Indians in the World Series.
The Atlanta Braves in the 1990's were notable for their starting pitching. In the 1990's the Braves franchise had Six National League Cy Young Award winners, led by the threesome of Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and John Smoltz. Glavine would win the award in 1991, and then Maddux would win in 1993, 1994, and 1995. John Smoltz would win the award in 1996, and then Glavine would win for a second time in 1998.http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/atl/history/story_of_the_braves.jsp2
Other notable Braves to wear the uniform have been Chipper Jones, Dale Murphy and of course Hall of Famer Hank Aaron who has a statue outside of Turner Field in Atlanta. Aaron was the first player to break the great Babe Ruth’s homerun record in April 1974.
Atlanta Braves 2009 Playoff Push
The 2009 Atlanta Braves season surprised a lot of baseball experts. This Braves team was not suppose to be anywhere near the playoffs, but down the stretch the Braves made a push for not only the NL Wild Card, but also the NL East crown. Towards the end of the season, the Braves went on a winning streak that put them within two games of the NL Wild Card leaders the Colorado Rockies, but the Rockies would eventually won the Wild Card while the Braves finished third in the NL East.
The Braves would finish the season with a 86-76 record but more importantly, was that this was the first time since they last won the National League East in 2005, that the Braves would finish with a record above .500.http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/ATL/

Sid Bream's Slide
One of the most memorable moments in Atlanta Braves history is the 1992 National League Championship Game versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. As life long Atlanta Braves fans tell people, the Braves and their fans suffered over the years as being one of the worst baseball franchises in the game, but the 1990's change all that. From 1991-2005, the Braves would win 14 divisional titles, five NL Pennants, and one World Series title. In that run, probably the most memorable moment was former Pirate Sid Bream chugging around the bases and sliding home winning the 1992 NL Pennant for the Braves.
