The Asus Eee PC portable laptop computer was first released in Taiwan in October 2007. The original Eee PC, weighing in at just two pounds, featured a 900mhz Intel Celeron processor, a 7-inch LCD display and up to 2GB of DDR II SDRAM. The hacks available for the Asus Eee PC may come in handy for extending the original functionality of the device.
Asus has been lauded for making the Asus Eee PC much more powerful than one would expect for a laptop of its size and certainly of its price. The word on the street is that it's also easy to modify and upgrade, and that the less-than-$400 price tag is a particularly exceptional value once programs have been added and tweaks have been made.

Another hack for the Eee PC will essentially turn the computer into an eBook reader.
