    Assassin's Creed is a third-person stealth action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The PC version is a special director's cut featuring four exclusive missions unavailable in the console versions of the game.

    Desmond Miles, as he sits captive in a prison cell, relives the memories of his ancestor, the assassin Altair. The game is divided into "memory blocks" in which the player controls Altair through various assassination missions. Completing these tasks requires mastering an assassin's arsenal of weapons: stealth attacks, pickpocketing, eavesdropping, and interrogation. In addition to the primary storyline, there are a number of sidequests that allow further exploration of the game's features.

    Assassin's Creed is seen by many to be the successor to another Ubisoft game franchise, the The Sands of Time trilogy. In fact, the two series share the same core development team.IGN: Assassin's Creed AU Interview: Patrice Desilets (October 22, 2007)
