Among other collectibles available, in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, players can gather various rare paintings and portraits. While the rare paintings require Borgia Flags to be unlocked the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood portraits can be unlocked only after Ezio Auditore da Firenze assassinates certain targets.

The action in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood takes place in Rome where the main character Ezio moves with his family to avenge his uncle’s death. Mario Auditore is killed in the beginning of the game and Ezio decides to punish Cesare Borgia for his deed and the entire Order of Templars; however to do that he must establish a new Brotherhood of Assassins.http://assassinscreed.uk.ubi.com/brotherhood/news/11436.html

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood features 3 unique paintings which can be collected by players. The paintings have different significations in the game and can be purchased only from art merchants. Each painting costs 15 Borgia Flags. Additionally the player can opt to finish the Sequence 8 in the game and will gain access to them without having to spend these flags. The first rare painting is Ezio’s self portrait which can be purchased from an art merchant established in Centro. The second painting is the "Young Man with an Apple" and can be acquired from Antico art merchant. After assassinating 6 significant targets in the game, Ezio will be able to collect their portraits. Most of these targets are members of the Borgia family such as Cesare Borgia, Rodrigo Borgia, Lucrezia Borgia and Juan Borgia, however two of them are random characters who play an important role in the game’s plot. These two characters are Baron de Valois and Micheletto.
