The first of two walkthroughs planned for downloadable content releases Assassin's Creed 2, the Battle of Forli. It was released on January 28, 2010 on the Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network.

The Battle of Forli fills in a gap in the game's storyline by explaining what happened during the corrupted memory sequence #12. During that time, Ezio had just recovered the Apple of Eden from Rodrigo Borgia and was going to meet with his fellow assassins to decide what to do next. They decide to bring the Apple to Forli, where it can be protected by the city's walls.

When Forli comes under attack by men under the employ of Borgia, Ezio must do battle to protect not only the Apple, but lady Catarina's children as well.

The second of the two planned DLCs, Bonfire of the Vanities, was released on February 18, 2010.

The Bonfire of the Vanities fills in another gap in the game's storyline by picking up right where the Battle of Forli left off. In Ezio's hunt for the Apple of Eden, he discovers that it resides in Florence, in the hands of a man named Savonarola. Savonarola has used the Apple's power to corrupt the leaders of the city and keep the citizens oppressed. It's up to Ezio to kill Savonarola's nine lieutenants to return order to Florence and retrieve the Apple of Eden.

Florentine Fiasco

1. When the DLC sequence begins, Ezio will find himself just outside the gates of Florence.
2. Quickly run forward and catch up with the group of monks so you can blend and sneak inside the city.
3. Head to the waypoint and then follow the blue mark on your map to reach your next destination.
4. Once you reach the blue marker you'll initiate a cutscene with Machiavelli.
5. Follow Machiavelli and his guards as he brings you up to speed on the situation in Florence regarding the Apple of Eden.
6. After the next cutscene where Ezio examines the dead bodies, escort Machiavelli to the next marker and get ready for a fight.
7. Once you clear the opposition on the way to the Pallazo Pitti, Ezio will formulate a plan that will serve as the structure for this DLC. When the conversation ends, you'll complete the mission.

NOTE: From this point on, these next nine missions can be attempted in any order. They will be listed in this walkthrough in the order that I personally found them.

Arch Nemesis

1. For this mission, Ezio will have to navigate his way up a building to assassinate the condottiero, who is preaching to a crowd down below.
2. The best way to approach this mission is stealthily. Try to sneak over to the building where the condottiero awaits by using ranged weapons to take out the guards patrolling the roofs without causing an alarm.
3. If you're spotted, don't try to fight off the waves of enemies that come to fight you. Instead, use a smoke bomb to escape the enemies, and then just make a mad dash towards your target for a quick assassination.
4. Once the target is dead and you've listened to his parting words, leap off the edge of the building and dive into the water to make your escape.

Doomsday

1. Once again, you must take out a preacher who has been corrupted by the apple. This time however he is on the ground level and surrounded by guards, making a frontal approach rather difficult.
2. Instead, from the starting location, go straight and stealthily take care of the guards on the rooftops. Make sure you won't be seen when you jump over to the large building to the left.
3. Carefully sneak your way over to the cross on top of the building and make sure you're not being watched.
4. When the coast is clear down below on the wooden platform, drop down and then hang on the edge of the platform.
5. Set your sights on the preacher down below, and hit X to perform an aerial assassination.
6. Run away to return to anonymity and you'll complete the mission.

Still Life

1. In this mission, you have to stalk and assassinate an artist as he wanders around a guarded area down below.
2. At the start of the mission, head north along the rooftops,, turn right once you reach the end, and then sprint jump off the flag by holding RT and pressing A.
3. You'll leap over to a wooden platform along the east wall of the city.
4. Pull yourself up and free run across the path of platforms, killing the guard overlooking the fire.
5. Stand on the platform the guard was on and wait for your target to make his way towards the fire. Once he gets close enough, take him out with an aerial assassination.
6. Once you watch the dying cutscene of the artist, high tail it out of there become anonymous once again to complete the mission.

Port Authority

1. Start off by diving into the water. If a guard starts to notice you, hold down A to hide underwater.
2. Swim over to the docks on the east side and stealthily assassinate the patrolling guards.
3. Once its clear on the docks, start climbing up the back of the ship (the side with the rudder)
4. Take out the two guards, then climb on to the rail overlooking your target. Perform another aerial assassination to take him out.

Hitting the Hay

1. In this mission, you'll need to make use of the many haystacks strewn across the area.
2. Drop down from the building and quickly run into a haystack before the guards go on alert.
3. If a guard gets near a haystack, quickly press X when he gets close enough to assassinate him and pull him into the hay.
4. Use your eagle vision to easily track where the guards are and move from hay stack to hay stack as you approach the target.
5. Once the target and his escort get close, wait for them to walk ahead, then sneak up behind the target and stealth assassinate him.
6. If you have trouble getting behind the target and getting the stealth assassination. Get into one of the haystacks near the small houses. Wait for the target to go around the house, then get on top of the house and perform an aerial assassination instead.
7. Once the death cutscene plays out, make your escape and return to anonymity.

Climbing the Ranks

1. This mission is pretty much a straight up combat mission. If you have a smoke bomb, you can use it to distract the enemies while you climb up the structures and make your way towards the target.
2. TIP: Instead of just trying to climb up to get to the roof and getting shot by arrows, look around for a stack of barrels and boxes with a white cloth covering them. You can use them to get up to the roof faster and with more protection from arrows.
3. Once you reach the first roof, quickly make a break for the ladders and get to the very top of the building.
4. From there you'll get into a large fight against your target and his small army of guards.
5. Focus your attacks on your target, but use counters to defend against the guards.
6. Once you assassinate your target, head down the south end of the building so you can safely descend from roof to roof instead of just jumping off.
7. Once you become anonymous once again, you'll complete the mission.

Last Rites

1. Start off by scaling the large building just to the left. Take out the guard at the top via ledge assassination.
2. Use ranged attacks to kill the remaining enemies patrolling the roof of this building.
3. Once it's clear, start headings towards the crosshair on your mini map and begin climbing up.
4. The path you take while climbing will likely take you to the south side of the building.
5. Once you reach the area where your target awaits, first take out the guard on the same level as him via stealth assassination.
6. Next, just sneak up behind your target and stick your hidden blade into his back.
7. If you did this right, you shouldn't even have to escape from anyone. You'll be anonymous after the assassination.

Upward Mobility

1. This mission is a straight up chase to catch the fleeing nobleman.
2. Start off by climbing the stack of objects just to the right with the white cloth on them.
3. Your target will leap to the rooftop just up ahead, giving you a straight view of wherever he goes.
4. Follow him from rooftop to rooftop and eventually you'll be able to catch him with a running assassination.
5. Once the death cutscene ends, once again run away and find a hiding spot to return to anonymity.

Surgical Strike

1. The object of this mission is to sneak around the guards so that you can get behind your target for a quick assassination.
2. Thankfully, this is made pretty easy due to the crowds of people all around. Walk, don't run, around the outside of the area as you make your way towards the target.
3. If a guard notices you, blend into the nearest group until he goes away.
4. Once you make it into the restricted area, walk towards the target until you're close enough to sprint towards him to assassinate without the guards going alert.
5. Watch the death cutscene and then make your escape to complete the mission.

Power to the People

1. In this final mission, all you have to do is chase down the guard who picked up the Apple of Eden.
2. This is a pretty simple chase mission that shouldn't be too hard. Just chase the guard along the rooftops and keep an eye out for when you're able to assassinate once you're close enough.
3. After the assassination, head towards the next waypoint to trigger a final cutscene.
4. Once you regain control, you'll have to assassinate Savonarola before he burns so that he dies a humane death so to speak.
5. Just manuever your way through the crowd and once you get close enough, a cutscene will take care of the rest.
6. Congratulations! You have just beaten the Assassin's Creed 2 DLC: Bonfire of the Vanities.

A Warm Welcome

1. After you initiate the mission and finish watching the cutscene with Leonardo and Mario, you'll regain control of Ezio in Romania. Head forward and talk to Catarina to begin the first of six missions.
2. After the cutscene, simply follow Catarina and Machiavelli and listen to their conversation.
3. You'll eventually see a bunch of people running towards you indicating some trouble in the city of Forli.
4. Another cutscene will play indicating that the city has been invaded by men working for The Spaniard.
5. Run towards the gates and fight off the group of enemies that intercept you.
6. Once you reach the gates you'll need to find another way inside.
7. Turn right and run towards one of the boats near the cliff.
8. Row yourself over to dock ahead and take out all of the guards with the red caps. They'll be busy fighting against the other guards, so it should be easy to just sneak up behind them.
9. Hop across the poles at the other end of the dock and follow the free run path around to another gate that leads into the town.
10. Dive in the water and swim under the gate.
11. Emerge on the other side and clear the next area of enemies.
12. Climb up to the rooftops and start free running towards the blue waypoint on your minimap.
13. Once you reach the waypoint, move over to the glowing gate controls and you'll open the gate so Catarina and her guards can enter.

Bodyguard

1. Drop down into the hay wagon and fight your way through the many guards while protecting Catarina and Machiavelli.
2. Follow Catarina as she leads you to her home, taking out the guards that try to stop you along the way.
3. TIP: If you get overwhelmed by the number of guards, try using a smokebomb to stun all nearby enemies, then go one by one and stab as many enemies as you can with your hidden blade.
4. Once you reach the gates, you'll be ambushed by two huge waves of enemies. Make sure to keep a close eye on the health of Catarina and Machiavelli and use your counters and dodges whenever possible to get easy kills.
5. Head towards the marker once the gates open.

Holding the Fort

1. Your next mission involves defending the castle against an invasion of enemies while protecting Catarina and Machiavelli.
2. Your first order of business is to find where Machiavelli and Catarina are fighting. The biggest threat towards you failing this mission is their survival, so make sure you locate and protect them.
3. TIP: If you wish to restock on ammo for your pistol and throwing knives, there is a glowing marker on the bottom level that will refresh your ammunition.
4. Most likely, Machiavelli and Catarina are fighting at the tops of the towers, so ignore the nearby enemies and start scaling the walls.
5. Once you kill enough enemies, you'll complete the mission
6. Find Catarina again and talk to her to begin the next mission.

Godfather

1. You're on a 10 minute time limit in this mission to locate and rescue Catarina's two children. They're both located outside of the city, so quickly head in the direction of the marker on your minimap, but also look to get on top of the city walls so you can dive into the water.
2. Find a boat and row yourself over to the dock up ahead which should put you in the green territory on the minimap.
3. Look for an area on the minimap that shows four red dots indicating enemies. The first child is located there.
4. Guarding Bianca are two guards on the outside, one on top of the house, and two right next to the child. Try taking them out without ever alerting them to your presence to make things go faster. The pistol and throwing knives work great for this.
5. Once you rescue Bianca, she'll tell you that her brother is being held captive by the lighthouse. Look for a horse and then start galloping over to the next marker.
6. When you make it to the lighthouse, fight your way up the stairs and then start climbing the walls until you reach the top.
7. At the top awaits Ottaviano Riario and Catarina's son. Assassinate Ottaviano and you'll complete the mission.
8. Jump down into the straw wagon and head all the way back to Catarina's castle to get the next mission.

Checcomate

1. Checco Orsi has stolen the Apple of Eden while you were retrieving Catarina's children, so now its up to you to get it back.
2. Start heading towards the yellow marker and eventually you'll see a large green circle on the minimap.
3. Head outside the castle walls by either distracting or killing the guards.
4. Checco is hanging around a couple of guards just outside the gate. When you approach, he'll take off running.
5. Chase him down and assassinate him with the hidden blade as soon as you get close.
6. If he ends up getting far ahead of you, take him down with your pistol if no one is behind you to hit you while you're aiming.
7. If he's out of range of your pistol, get on the horse up ahead and chase him down.
8. Once you kill him, watch all of the cutscenes and get ready for a time skip that introduces us to beared Ezio.
9. When you regain control, head to the "!" marker to start the next mission.

Far From the Tree

1. Move around to the outer end of the Abbey to avoid being spotted by any enemies while in the restricted area. Climb to the top, take out the guard with a stealthy assassination, and then move over to the opposite edge of the roof.
2. Look down and you'll see two men guarding a monk. Use your aerial double assassination to kill the two guards and you'll initiate a cutscene.
3. When the cutscene ends head out of the restricted area and look for a horse that can take you to the gate of Forli.
4. Once inside the town, follow the marker to the abbey, turn on eagle vision and look for the guy that is highlighted gold.
5. After you confront the monk, three of them will run away. Turn on eagle vision and go after the monk that is highlighted gold. Hold RT to run after him and then press B when close to tackle him. Make sure you don't kill him!
6. Once you catch the monk, you'll complete the mission and the DLC.
