Aspen is an old mining-town-turned-upscale tourist destination in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Aspen is a popular winter sports destination and home to many of the large winter sports competitions.

If you want to do something other than skiing, Aspen has something for you. Visit the Aspen Art Museum and enjoy art exhibits, they also host a annual exhibit that showcases local talent. Thursday's they offer free wine-and-cheese receptions. You can also learn about the history of Aspen by visiting the Wheeler/Stallard House Museum. Fodor's recommends visiting the Maroon Bells, these majestic twin peaks are more than 14,000 feet high. Cars are only allowed half-way up, but shuttle buses are available for a small fee.Activities
