Ashworth College, formerly known as Ashworth University, is a nationally accredited commercial distance learning school located in Atlanta, Georgia. Established in 1987, Ashworth incorporates three institutions formerly known as the Professional Career Development Institute, Ashworth College and James Madison High School into one educational organization. http://www.ashworthcollege.edu/about/
Ashworth offers High School Diplomas, Career Diplomas, Certificates, Single Course Credits, Associate Degrees, Bachelor’s Degrees, and Master’s Degrees in over 100 fields of study, including: Business, Creative programs, Criminal Justice, Education, Health Care, Human Resources, Marketing, Technology, and Trade. http://www.ashworthcollege.edu/programs/areas-of-study/ Students study through correspondence with instructors, via the internet or U.S. mail.
Ashworth promotes itself as a career focused institution, that allows students the flexibility to study when and where they want, without the constraints placed on students studying in the classroom. Since Ashworth College does not incur the costs of a traditional college or university, because they do not maintain a campus, residence halls or classrooms, the institution is able to offer students programs at more affordable rates, including textbooks and study materials in tuition costs. http://www.ashworthcollege.edu/about/
Enrollment is open year-round to prospective students. Within 1 day of receiving a completed application, and arranging for tuition fees to be paid, students will be mailed their course materials and receive access to online orientation. Students are provided with a number of resources, including tutors available six days each week to assist with any questions a student may have. Upon completion of studies, students can opt to have their diploma mailed to them, or they can take part in a graduation ceremony held once each year in Atlanta. http://www.ashworthcollege.edu/community/graduation/
