Shortly after Ashley Alexandra Dupre was identified as the prostitute then-Governor Eliot Spitzer was involved with, curious members of the press and public found her MySpace page.

There, they discovered Dupre was an aspiring musician, with her composition "What We Want" featured on it. The song, which has a beat and sound similar to that of a Britney Spears track, is available for purchase on the Amie Street website.

Amie Street prices songs based on popularity. Both Dupre singles "What We Want" and "Move Ya Body" sold at the top price of 98 cents, of which she made 70% of. In March 2008, the New York Post reported that Dupre had made about $200,000 from the downloads.

  • Critical Response

    • "These days, when so many hip-hop tracks drool over strippers, Dupré's song, which got airplay yesterday on local radio stations, including Z100, sounds surprisingly of the moment." - NY Daily News
    • "[I]t stacks up against all the other generic hip-hop flavoured R&B; on the radio/iTunes these days. This will be played in every club in New York on Friday night." - The Ampersand
