Rumors that fellow rockers Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are engaged were confirmed when Simpson posted the following comment on friendsorenemies.com on April 9, 2008:
- "We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged." The announcement of the engagement has prompted rumors that Simpson is pregnant, on which the couple have refused to comment
A source close to the family recently told People magazine that Simpson is pregnant and plans to get married next month, May 2008, at a friend's house in La Jolla, California.
