Asher Roth

Hip-hop artist Asher Roth began rapping in high school and used the social networking sites MySpace and Facebook as well as his personal blog, The Daily Kush, to promote his music. His first professional release, The GreenHouse Effect mixtape album, was presented by DJ Drama and Don Cannon and released on June 13, 2008.

On January 7, 2009, Roth was aboard a flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles. As the flight was landing in LA, another passenger stated that he was carrying a bomb and then tried to escape the plane. Several passengers combined efforts to help subdue the man until authorities reached scene and took the offender into custody.

Although original reports stated that Roth was among those who helped subdue the self-proclaimed bomb holder, Roth later refuted these claims, saying that it was actually his guitarist, Chris Llewellyn, who helped detain the man.http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1602326/20090108/story.jhtml
