Current or Most Recent Season

After breaking his left forearm on May 17 2010, Asdrubal Cabrera was originally put on the 15-day disabled list. After learning that he would miss anywhere from eight to ten weeks, the Indians moved him to the 60-day disabled list. He underwent surgery to repair his fractured arm, and is expected back sometime after the All-Star break, or as late as August. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=28671

Before his injury, Cabrera was having another fine start to a season, hitting .322 with 1 home run and 7 RBI. This was Cabrera's first season hitting lead-off with the Indians, so his RBIs were expected to go down.

Cabrera's salary for the 2010 season is $444,600. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cabreas01.shtml

Last Season

The 2009 season was Asdrubal Cabrera's breakout season with the Cleveland Indians, as the second baseman hit .308 with 6 home runs and 68 RBI. He also added 42 doubles and 17 stolen bases to his outstanding season with the team.

Cabrera's emergence as a star player allowed the Indians and new manager Manny Acta to put the young shortstop batting at the top of the order, which, until now, has been the spot in the order reserved for All-Star Grady Sizemore. Sizemore, fighting his own injuries, is to hit second in the order when both players are healthy.
