Mahalo art expert Ken O'Brien explains how to use the eraser tool in ArtRage.
Eraser Tool
The eraser tool is found in the toolbox. Select it by clicking on it.You can always use the Undo button at the top to remove whatever you last drew, but the eraser can be used for various types of erasing. This works well for shading and creating thinner, more faded images.
Settings and Presets
There are two settings you can change for the eraser tool: the amount of pressure the eraser is applied to the canvas with and the softness of the eraser.
To change the eraser tool's settings, click Settings.Click on the Pressure bar and drag left or right to change the percentage of pressure.
Click on the Softness bar and drag left or right to change the percentage of softness.
The eraser tool has three presets, accessible by clicking Presets.
Hard Edged simulates a real eraser, meaning you have to use it a few times to fully get rid of marks. This is at 50 percent pressure and zero percent softness.
- Instant Erase erases marks very quickly. This is at 100 percent pressure and zero percent softness.
Soft Eraser simulates using an eraser very lightly, meaning it removes marks gradually. This is at 50 percent pressure and 100 percent softness.

Ken O'Brien
