ArtRage Tutorial Chalk Overview

Using the Chalk Tool

The chalk tool is found in the toolbox. Select it by clicking on it.

The chalk tool can be used to create highlights. Select white from the color picker, then click anywhere on the canvas to add a chalk highlight to that area.

The chalk tool's marks also blend with any strokes that have already been laid down. For example, when you mark with white chalk over black chalk marks, it blends slightly and becomes grayish.

Settings

There are not many settings for the chalk tool. There are no presets, but you can change the pressure being applied to the canvas and the size of your chalk.

To change the pressure, click Settings.

Click on the bar and drag left or right to change the percent of pressure.

If you're working on a tablet, set this to 50 percent. This way, you can change the pressure by simply exerting more or less pressure on the tablet screen with your pen.

To change the size of the chalk, click the percent inside the toolbox, then drag in a circular motion backward or forward to increase or decrease the percent.
