    • Still requires anesthetics
    • After surgery the incisions will be covered with dressings
    • Uncommon complications: blood clots, excessive swelling or bleeding, infection, damage to blood vessels or nerves
    • Incision takes several days to heal
    • Joint takes several weeks to recover
  • Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure. It involves examining damage to a joint using an arthroscope. During the procedure the surgeon will make a small incision and insert a pencil sized instruments with a light and lens to illuminate the inside of the joint. A camera helps them observe the joint on a television type screen.
