Self-aware, ironic British indie rock band Art Brut are considered part of Britain's "Art Wave" scene, along with bands like Franz Ferdinand. They have released two albums - 2005's Bang Bang Rock and Roll and 2007's It's a Bit Complicated.

Career Overview
Art Burt formed in 2003, distributing their first homemade album, Brutlegs, at live shows. They were signed to Rough Trade Records, which released their first single, "Formed a Band."In 2005, the band's proper debut, Bang Bang Rock and Roll, was released the international praise. They performed at a number of festivals in 2006, including the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Pitchfork Music Festival.
Their second album, It's a Bit Complicated, followed in 2007. The band left EMI in 2008 after the company released their song, "Pump Up the Volume," as a download-only single, against the band's wishes.
