Representing the United States Military Academy, the Army Black Knights football team plays college football as an independent team in the NCAA. The Black Knights are coached by Rich Ellerson and play their home games at Michie Stadium in West Point, New York. In the 2010-11 college football season, the Army Black Knights tallied an even 6-6 record. The performance qualified the team to play in the Armed Forces Bowl. Between 1925 and 1946, the Black Knights played against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 21 times, which created a rivalry between the two teams. 1924 Army-Notre Dame Game
Prior to the 2010 game between the Army Black Knights and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the history of the rivalry between the two teams was highlighted. While footage from the 1924 game is played, the narrator describes an article written about the game, which names the four leading players from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish "The Four Horsemen."
