Representing the United States Military Academy, the Army Black Knights football team plays college football as an independent team in the NCAA. The Black Knights are coached by Rich Ellerson and play their home games at Michie Stadium in West Point, New York. In the 2010-11 college football season, the Army Black Knights tallied an even 6-6 record. The performance qualified the team to play in the Armed Forces Bowl. Between 1925 and 1946, the Black Knights played against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 21 times, which created a rivalry between the two teams.
