Armand Assante is an
Emmy-winning American Actor. Born and raised in
New York, Assante was the son of artistic parents. His mother was a teacher and a poet, while his father was an painter. Assante attended Cornwall central High School, before pursuing his dramatic training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He made his screen debut as a "Wedding Guest" in the
1974 film
Lords of Flatbush, which starred
Henry Winkler and
Sylvester Stallone. Assante's breakthrough role came in the film Private Benjamin starring
