General elections were held in Arkansas on November 2, 2010, and on this day voters elected the governor, one senator, and four members of the U.S. House of Representatives. In the Senate race, Republican challenger John Boozman unseated Democratic incumbent Blanche Lincoln. Republican John McCain captured the state's six electoral votes on November 4, 2008. Throughout the evening, McCain held a commanding lead over Democrat Barack Obama. McCain led Obama by as much as 16 percentage points for much of the night. Voters in Arkansas approved Proposed Initiative Act 1, a measure which bans gay couples from adopting children.
