Arkansas Election Results

General elections were held in Arkansas on November 2, 2010, and on this day voters elected the governor, one senator, and four members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Incumbent Democrat Mike Beebe was reelected for governor, beating out Republican challenger Jim Keet.http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2010/results/state/#val=AR

In the Senate race, Republican challenger John Boozman unseated Democratic incumbent Blanche Lincoln. For the House of Representatives, the first three districts were won by Republicans Crawford, Griffin, and Womack. The 4th district was won by Ross. All 3 major ballot measures were approved by Arkansas residents, including a constitutional right to hunt and fish, a constitutional limit on interest rates to 17%, and the establishment of criteria for economic improvement project financing.http://elections.nytimes.com/2010/results/arkansas

Republican John McCain captured the state's six electoral votes on November 4, 2008. Throughout the evening, McCain held a commanding lead over Democrat Barack Obama. McCain led Obama by as much as 16 percentage points for much of the night. Gay Adoption

Voters in Arkansas approved Proposed Initiative Act 1, a measure which bans gay couples from adopting children.
