He began his professional career as a model when he was discovered by fashion designer Rohit Bal. After success as a model, Rampal decided to move into films and got his debut in Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat. The film did not fare well but Rampal got more offers and has made a steady career for himself as a supporting actor.

His wife is model Mehr Jessia and his cousin is actress Kim Sharma. He has two daughters.
