The University of Arizona football team plays college football in the Pacific Ten Conference. They play their home games on campus at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, and their biggest rival is Arizona State.
Following completing the 2008 season with a 7-5 record, the Wildcats have qualified to play in their first bowl game since 1998. Arizona joined the Pac-10 Conference in 1978. The Wildcats have played in 13 bowl games, but currently have the distinction of being the only Pac-10 school not to have represented the conference in the Rose Bowl. There have been several notable players produced by the school into the National Football League. These include Tedy Bruschi, Chuck Cecil, Jackie Wallace, Lance Briggs, Ricky Hunley, Glenn Parker, Dennis Northcutt and Chris McAlister.
