The 2010 Cardinals roster is undergoing a sizable shakeup at some key positions. Replacing quarterback Kurt Warner and one of the organization's all-time leading wide receivers, Anquan Boldin, will be of primary concern for a team just two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance.
The key for the Cardinals is to make a seamless transition to keep their newly acquired status as the NFC West's elite team. Arizona did about as well as it could to restock through free agency for the 2010 season but still have some holes to fill. At least the 53-man roster should look younger.
Arizona must find more help on the interior of the defensive line. A pass-rush outside linebacker also is a priority, and the Cardinals also would like to shore up the inside linebacker position and find some help in coverage in the secondary.
Offensively, Arizona has a major need at tackle. A pass-catching tight end would be a bonus. The Cardinals' offense could become more run-oriented in 2010, which could have a domino effect on the rest of the team's performance.

Best All-Time Combination
The Cardinals offensive backfield in the mid-1970s, when the team was in St. Louis, was one of the most potent in the NFL. In 1975, quarterback Jim Hart, running back Terry Metcalf and fullback Jim Otis all made the Pro Bowl.http://www.azcardinals.com/history/pro-bowlers.html The two running backs combined for 1,892 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns that season. http://www.nfl.com/players/jimotis/profile?id=OTI415291 http://www.nfl.com/players/terrymetcalf/profile?id=MET355962
Meanwhile, Hart threw for 2,507 yards and 19 TDs - although he did throw 19 interceptions in '75 (he had better overall numbers in '76).http://www.nfl.com/players/jimhart/profile?id=HAR679874 It didn't hurt the backfield that the Cards had Pro Bowl offensive linemen Conrad Dobler and Dan Dierdorf up front, as well as wide receiver Mel Gray to extend the field.http://www.azcardinals.com/history/pro-bowlers.html
Time will tell how Arizona will do without Anquan Boldin, but the wide receiver tandem the past six seasons of Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald could go down as one of the best all-time. Of course, the duo's success had a lot to do with now-retired quarterback Kurt Warner.
