    Argentina commonly has diets high in protein, with many meals being cooked on the "asado" or barbecue grill. Common meats used include beef, lamb and most commonly goat. When it comes to desserts, dulce de leche is very popular. It is a cream used to cover cakes or pancakes, tasting similar to carmel. Throughout the entire region, it is common to see meats of all kinds cooked on the grill, dulce de leche and heldago (Ice Cream) and empanadas, which are fruit or meat-filled pastries.
