On August 5, 2008, a photograph showing four members of Argentina's women's Olympic soccer team pulling their eyelids back, making a "slant-eyed" gesture was published in an Argentinian newspaper. The photograph was published before Spain's Olympic basketball team was photographed in the same controversial pose.
