Archos is a revolutionary French technology company that specializes in portable media players (PMPs). Archos was the first company in the world to build a portable media device that was able to support video playback. The Archos 605 WiFi was one of their most successful devices.Archos also has made smaller PMPs similar to the iPod, including the Clipper, and the Archos Vision series. Archos has, in the past, made a few forays into the personal computer market. The Archos 10 and the smaller Archos 10s are the netbooks made by them. They have also manufactured the Archos 13, a fully sized, lightweight laptop computer. Also on the list, the Archos 9 is a tablet PC designed for portability and convenience.
In September of 2009, Archos announced its 7th generation PMP's, dubbed by Archos as the 'Internet Media Tablet' (IMT). The flagship product of this new line of PMP is the Archos 5 IMT.
In March 2010, Archos announced its Archos 7 and Archos 8 home tablets, designed for around the house use.
