Reviews

"Fire it up, and the Linux-based OS has been replaced by the much loved Android. Dazzling on the 4.8-inch screen you get three fully customizable home screens with widgets in tow that you can drag on and off the home screen easily using the uber responsive touchscreen. With just three home screens, it can get cluttered very easily regardless of the larger estate. If you’re all for the minimal approach there’s also the main menu screen to house your unwanted widgets." http://www.t3.com/reviews/ipod-and-mp3-players/all-mp3-players/archos-android-5-internet-tablet-review

"The Archos 5 *Internet* Tablet obviously requires an internet connection. Archos has chosen to use WIFI B/G/N. Note that only a few mobile devices actually use an "N" connection right now. That might come in handy when streaming HD content from a uPNP network device.

It is also possible to use your internet-enabled mobile phone as a Bluetooth modem, but it's less practical and consumes more battery life on both devices. At least, it's *possible*, and frankly, I can't myself paying another wireless subscription, even if it is for a fancy tablet. Archos has made the right choice here."http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2009/09/archos-5-internet-tablet-review.html

"A giant among Androids That screen means that this is the largest production device to run Google's Android mobile OS to date and, with an 800Mhz processor, also the fastest. A promising start.

Video, as you'd expect from an Archos PMP, is highly defined across 4.8in of screen territory and moving-image prowess is second to none. But there's more than one trick to this slender black pony."http://stuff.tv/review/Archos-5-Internet-Tablet-32GB-review/
