Architecture in Helsinki is a five-piece Indie-pop group from Melbourne. Their music is influenced by a broad range of styles, from electronic to rock, and will often switch between these influences within a single song. They support their flexible compositional style with a vast selection of instruments, from synthesizers to the glockenspiel, in both their recorded music and their live performances.

Similar to their expansive sound, the band's lineup was well known for its size. Shortly after working together with a band called The Rhinestone Horns, Architecture in Helsinki added all 3 members to its original 5. And while two of the added members eventually left the group, Architecture in Helsinki recorded and toured with all 8 members for nearly 3 years.

"When we were in Norway at the end of last year there were a few Finnish interviewers who came to interview us mainly about the name. I think they were quite perplexed. To us, the name means having to answer many questions and inquiries about the name, which I guess, is entirely understandable."
