  • Architecture is the art and science behind the design and construction of physical structures such as buildings and bridges. Although the majority of architecture centers around designing structures for human habitation or use, architects may also be employed to design green spaces such as parks or assist in the planning of entire cities or communities.
  • Specialization

A design architect is one who drafts the plans for a building, while a project architect looks after the processes necessary to get the structure built, such as acquiring building permits, obtaining building materials and hiring crew. Many architects specialize in particular types of buildings and structures (hospitals, schools, historic structures) or specialize in certain aspects of design and construction (roofing & waterproofing, masterplanning, environmental consulting).
