Apple Inc. is a company that develops and markets consumer electronics, such as desktop computers, tablet computers and smartphones. They also design software for its proprietary Mac OS X operating system, as well as other computing platforms. Apple operates a retail chain of Apple Stores and the iTunes online music store.

In May 2009, rumors began circulating that Apple would offer $700 million to buy the micro-blogging site Twitter. Steve Jobs Health

On January 14, 2009, Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced that he was going to "take a medical leave of absence until the end of June" because his "health-related issues" were "more complex" than he originally thought. Tim Cook replaced Jobs in the interim. On January 5, 2009, Jobs responded to rumors of his ailing health by stating he had a hormonal disorder.Yahoo!
