Use any firm app ... read moreStep by step how to make an Apple Pie. Begin with a package of refrigerated pie crust. Unroll one pie crust and press into pie plate. Use any firm apple, Granny Smith is used in this recipe. Prepare 6 cups of thinned slice apples, add 3/4 cups of of sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir together to coat the apples and mix well. Place into pie crust. Then unroll the other crust on top of the apple mix. Tuck under overhang of the crust edge, then crimp edges with fingers. Cut four or five slits in crust for steam to escape. Place a pie shield over edges to prevent the outer crust from burning before pie is cooked. Bake at 425 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Remove pie shield about 15 minutes before pie is to be done, so crust can brown. Let cool 2 hours on counter before cutting. Enjoy!
