Anze Kopitar is a professional hockey player with the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. On October 11, 2008, Kopitar signed a contract extension with the Kings worth a reported $47.6 million over seven years.

Career Highlights
Kopitar began his professional career playing for the Sodertalje SK in the Elitserien, or Swedish Elite League, in 2004. He was then drafted 11th overall in the first round of the 2005 NHL draft by the Los Angeles Kings. Kopitar continued to play in Sweden for one additional season, before coming to the United States. He made his NHL debut with the Kings on October 6, 2006, scoring two goals his first game. He played a total of 72 games with the Kings, scoring 20 goals and 41 assists his rookie year. That performance earned him spot in the NHL Young Stars Game in 2007. Kopitar's numbers improved in the 2007-08 regular season, playing in all 82 regular season games for the Kings and totaling 32 goals and 45 assists. -
