Antonio DeShonta Smith was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on October 21, 1981. He attended John Marshall high school. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University. Smith in two games for the Cardinals in his first season. In 2005, he appeared in 12 games with 16 total solo tackles including three sacks. In 2007, he recorded one of his best seasons when he finished the season with 43 total tackles with 5.5 sacks.
