Antonio Margarito is a professional boxer.
The California State Athletic commission has temporarily suspended the boxing license of Antonio Margarito and his trainer, Javier Capetillo. Margarito and Capetillo are being investigated for allegedly putting a plaster like substance on Margarito's hand wraps before his fight against Sugar Shane Mosley on January 24, 2009. According to commission chairman Tim Noonan, The temporary suspension will remain in effect until CSAC has fully investigated the circumstances surrounding events at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 24, 2009. Margarito made his professional boxing debut on January 14, 1994, with a victory over Jose Trujillo. In 2002, he defeated Antonio Diaz to become the WBO Welterweight champion.
