For his play, Brown was named the North Athlete of the Year at 2005 Miami-Dade Gridiron Classic. In 2006, Brown moved on to North Carolina Tech before playing for the Central Michigan Chippewas football team. In his three seasons at Central Michigan, Brown finished his college football career as the school's leader for receptions and second in Mid-American Conference history for receptions with 305.
