  • Spanish actor, singer and dancer Antonio Banderas began his career starring in several films directed by Spanish director Pedro Almodovar in the 1980s. In the 1990s he moved to Hollywood and started working in American films, though he arrived speaking no English. He starred in Desperado as a Mexican mariachi. He has worked subsequently with Desperado director Robert Rodriguez on the sequel Once Upon a Time in Mexico and the Spy Kids franchise. Banderas's most widely heard recent role was as Puss in Boots in the second and third Shrek sequels.
