Anton Corbijn is a noted photographer and director of both films and music videos. Born in the Netherlands, Corbijn began his career in photography, shooting numerous musicians, bands and actors, plus designing album art for many artists. Perhaps most notably, Corbijn has worked extensively with Depeche Mode and U2. More recently, Corbijn directed the 2010 spy thriller The American starring George Clooney. He went on to work with Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen and U2 over the following decades, shooting the artists for magazine covers, album artwork and directing their music videos.
