Antoine Vermette is a Canadian professional athlete in the National Hockey League. He is currently a Center for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

NHL Career
Vermette was drafted 55th overall by the Ottawa Senators during the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in the 2002-2003 season, during which he played 61 games and earned 15 points. Since the 2005-2006 season, Vermette has been a regular member of the Senators' lineup and has increased his point count each year. During the 2007-2008 season, he earned 53 points in 85 games.
Vermette placed second in the League for shorthanded goals (6) during the 2006-2006 season. His exceptional play to score a goal from behind the net between his legs on San Jose Sharks goalie Johan Holmqvist in December of 2006 was named TSN's #1 goal of the season.
Vermette has repeatedly demonstrated strong face off and penalty killing abilities, and his speedy skating earned him the fastest skater award at the 2006 and 2008 Ottawa Senators skills competition.
