Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Antoine de Saint-Exupery was an aviator and author of numerous books and articles, primarily concerning aviation and related topics. His best known work is the philosophical children's book, The Little Prince. Former German pilot Horst Rippert believes that he was responsible for shooting down author Antoine de Saint-Exupery's plane in 1944. Saint-Exupery was on a mission to gather intelligence on German troop movements, when he disappeared. The wreckage of his plane was found off the coast of Marseille in 2000.
