Originally Antiques Roadshow was a BBC series in which professional appraisers traveled the United Kingdom. Antique enthusiasts would bring in their collectibles to learn their approximate values. The program began in the United Kingdom, but international versions have spun off from the original. In the American version Mark L. Wahlberg (of The Moment of Truth fame) hosts the program and an eager group of appraisers travels the United States teaching people about antiques and making people's dreams of riches come true (or crushing their hopes of wealth entirely).
