Anti-Aging Foods

There are certain foods that can help with the aging process. As people grow older, they may have to deal with one or more aliment and disease that come with age. A daily diet rich in fruits, vegetables, fish, and green tea will provide the body with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Nutrients help the body fight and prevent diseases such as cancer, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's, and heart disease.http://www.webmd.com/healthy-aging/guide/anti-aging-diet

Fruits and vegetables provide a diet with nutrients, antioxidants, and foods that are low in calories. Berries are high in antioxidants. They are high in vitamin C, and fight free radicals found in the skin and body. Free radicals are linked to inflammation. Inflammation occurs when there is trauma to the body such as a sprained ankle, or muscle aches. Inflammation will occur more frequently as someone grows older, and as the percentage for disease increases. Dark leafy green vegetables help with vision. Green vegetables contain lutein and zeaxanthin, which lessen the damaging effects of ultraviolet light on the eyes.http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/best-anti-aging-foods

Protein is an important element for muscle mass. Muscle decreases in volume by one percent after someone turns the age forty. As muscle mass declines, metabolism goes down, and it becomes easier to gain weight. Lean meats, beans, seafood, and dairy are high in protein, and should be apart to the daily diet.http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/best-anti-aging-foods

Omega 3 is a fatty acid that helps the body with inflammation. Salmon, tuna, walnuts, flaxseed, and fortified foods are sources of omega 3. Foods that are made with whole grains help to keep weight and blood sugar levels in normal range. Foods made with whole grains add fiber to the diet, and protect the body against colon cancer, heart disease, and high blood pressure. A glass or mug of red wine (five ounces a day), coffee, and tea (green, black, white, or oolong) contain a daily dose of antioxidants and nutrients that benefit the heart. Too much of these drinks can have the reverse effect, and contribute to aliments and diseases that can happen in the future.http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/best-anti-aging-foods?page=2

Plan Ahead

The way a body is treated today affects the health of a person in the future. A diet high in calories, saturated fat, trans fat, salt, cholesterol, and sugar will lead to health problems as a person ages. Think of a daily meal plan that will incorporate nutritious foods with the purpose of reducing or eliminating diseases that may happen in the future.
