Anthony Stewart

Right winger Anthony Stewart plays professional hockey in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Atlanta Thrashers. The La Salle, Quebec native was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, and signed with the Thrashers as a free agent on July 13, 2009. He made his NHL debut playing for the Panthers on October 18, 2005 in a game against the New Jersey Devils. Born on January 5, 1985, Anthony Stewart grew up in Quebec, a fan of Mario Lemieux. His favorite hockey memory was winning the World Junior Championships in 2005 with Canada. Stewart, who spends his off-seasons in Florida, scored his first NHL hat trick on October 15, 2010 against the Anaheim Ducks. Anthony Stewart Statistics and Career

Anthony Stewart began his career playing junior hockey for the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). In four seasons with the Frontenacs, he posted 238 points on 118 goals and 120 assists in 248 games. During the 2002-03 season, his second with the Frontenacs, he led the team in goals and points and ranked third in assists. The following season, he logged 58 points on 35 goals and 38 assists in 68 games, and in five playoff appearances scored three goals on four assists. Stewart began his professional career during the latter half of the 2004-05 season, playing in 10 games for the Panthers' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the San Antonio Rampage. During the 2005-06 season he played in just 14 games, four with the Panthers' AHL affiliate the Rochester Americans, and 10 with the Florida Panthers. After signing as a free agent with the Thrashers in July of 2009, Stewart played the entire 2009-10 season with the Thrashers' AHL affiliate the Chicago Wolves, logging 31 points on 12 goals and 10 assists.
