On April 19, 2008, Anthony Klaseus and his eight year old son, Hunter, were hunting wild turkeys in Faxon Township, Minnesota. Anthony mistook his son for a turkey and shot him in the chest with a 12 gauge shotgun from 20-30 yards away. The shooting is under investigation but the local sheriff characterized the incident as a tragic accident.
Remembering Hunter
A funeral service was held on April 23, 2008 for the boy at Pax Christi Church in Eden Prairie. He was remembered as a good student, who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and wrestling. A fund has been set up in memory of Hunter. Donations are being accepted at Minnesota area Wells Fargo banks.
