I rarely give money to people in the street, but one woman, in a sari, was begging for money to keep her utilities on and feed her kids. I was in the middle of traffic, the light turned green, and I had to go. I went around the block. She was on the perimeter of a gas station. Don't hold up traffic. Drive through the intersection as normal. By encouraging a person to stand in traffic waiting for you, you're running the risk that he will get hit by a car.
