You wake up late in the night/early in the morning (think 4-5 a.m.) Do you try to go back to sleep or just go with the early morning?

From my experience, I too tend to wake up quite often in the middle of the night/early morning, and though it is great to get a good eight (8) hour sleep, when you wake up in the middle/early night, and go back to sleep, you wake up much more tired and feel very groggy throughout the day.

It sort of messes with you. I would say that as long as you are not over exhausted, just get up and start your day as you normally would. You will wake up after your coffee and breakfast and will more than likely sleep great that night.

It is the same thing as taking a nap in the middle of the day, it messes the whole day up and you feel worse than when you laid down.

I woke up at 1:45am and have been going ever sense. So I would say I stay up. This insomnia is killer.
I have gotten a lot accomplished today though. and I hope I can sleep at bedtime tonight.

If you had at least 8 hours of sleep, stay up! Make those extra hours productive, get some work done, finish up a chore, or watch a movie and fix a big breakfast. However, if you didn't get a full nights rest, go back to sleep. There is no better feeling than waking up rested and ready for a new day!

I would definitely go back to sleep. My body seems to want a lot of rest lately, and dragging through the day without enough sleep means I won't be productive, no matter how many hours I have to use. I also go back to sleep pretty easily most of the time, so I would barely notice I had been woken up. I'm just not an early riser and I listen to what my body tells me when I can.

That's too early for me. I'd be back asleep in a matter of minutes. Also, if I stayed up, I'd feel "off" for the whole day and I'd get a lot less done (if that makes sense). I find that I'm much more on top of my game with a good night's sleep.

I wake up around that time every morning. If I can go back to sleep I do. There are rare occasions when I can't go back to sleep if that happens I get up and enjoy the quiet house. :) I usually trust my body if I feel like I need more rest I take it if not then I make use of the extra time.

Out of habit I still wake up at 4:30-5:00AM and have always found these to be very productive hours as most others aren's awake to interrupt you.
