How safe is the acai berry supplement and the colon cleanse?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

First wanted to let you know that Mahalo is in no way affiliated with Dr. Oz and advice you find on Mahalo Answers is just from everyday Mahalo users, so it is not to take the place of your doctor's advice.
That said, it sounds like if you take acai in its natural and/or organic form then it's perfectly healthy (unless you happen to be allergic to it, which is supposedly rare). Problem is, after it was mentioned by Dr. Oz on Oprah's show, a ton of companies jumped on the acai bandwagon and concocted acai-derived products that they market as straight-up weight loss products. Those are the ones that could very well be mixed with stuff like guarana that would get your heart racing.
So as with all diets, the very best thing to do would be to consult with your doctor or a nutritionist or dietitian before embarking on any new cleansing or dieting program.
Good luck!
