XL or OOo spreadsheet help need: I have a column of calculated values. How can I replace those =C4/$A$5 with the current calculated values?

to restate: i have a formula in every cell of a column. I like the results that are there and I want to keep the results only.

Short of doing this my hand, how can I replace the entire column with the numbers that show there now?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

In Excel do the following:

1. Highlight the cell(s) in question
2. Right-click anywhere in the highlighted area and select "copy".
3. Click another cell where you plan to keep the value(s) without formulas.
4. Right-click and select "Paste Special".
5. In the dialog box that pops up, click on "Values".
6. Double-click anywhere in the spreadsheet to remove the "walking ants" around the original cells.

If you're feeling especially brave, or if you have a backup copy of the file, you can use the original cells in step 3 above. Note that once you do that, and save the file, you will no longer have the original formulas to fall back on if you find you were mistaken and do want to make changes.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I believe the minimal amount of a tip offered for a question is M$1.00. If you wish to offer less than that, you would not have been able to. The solution is to tip directly after the fact (as you said you're planning to do, though I've not received notification of it yet). I'm glad the answer worked out for you either way.

i had 70 Mcents in my account when i asked the question. so i couldn't add a tip (it's even M dollar amounts only)

IF i had been smart, i maybe could have marked the question as interesting. (somehow... i'll bet that would have failed too since it was my question!) then added the arbitrary 70 M cents tip that way. as it is... you're stuck waiting for me to "earn" another 30 M cents.

might be a while, but i'm good for it!
