Yes, Xbox can play video file as WMV, DVD, WMV DivX, some AVI files.

I dont think Xbox360 can play MP4 video , It can play video file as WMV, DVD, WMV DivX, some AVI files. So if you wanna view MP4 vids on ur Xbox 360, Maybe you need a third video conversion tool to converter MP4 to Xbox360...

You also could try "Daniusoft video converter" which a friend told me. It can convert various video AVI, WMV, MP4, MPEG, FLV, 3GP, ASF, MOV, M4V, MPG, VOB, XviD, MKV, M2TS, TS, TRP, etc for Xbox 360,PSP, iPod, iPhone, Archos, mobile phone, Zune, etc.
