They did a good job, but some of the menu placements are weird. I guess it is a matter of re-learning them.
The avatars are neat, hopefully we'll see more games that take advantage of them.
As for Netflix, it is awesome. The $8.99 plan is just a steal.
To me the rest is eye candy. It does look a million times better than the menus in my Wii, but it is still eye candy.

well i really like the format at first but the avatars as of now are pretty worthless. I would like to see some more games use them. Games that won't cost a fortune because we all know how much Microsoft like to nickel and dime it's customers. But i am in love with the new party chat system FINALLY a private chat with more than one person. i even did a quick lame review on my youtube of it

I really like the new experience. Much cleaner, and easier to navigate. The Netflix integration is very well done. The party system is great. The only thing I am not in love with is the only thing that they force you to do and that the avitar, but once its done you don't have to worry about it.

I have to say it works fine, but I couldn't really care less about the avatars, so I would have been OK with it staying the same. The only time I tried a game installed to the HD (Assassin's Creed), it crashed on me, which it has never done from the DVD. I'm sure there are improvements, but I haven't really used anything different.

Try inputting a redemption code with the new UI... There are literally no screens that accept them in the main menu cascade. The only way you can redeem, lets say the 2 day Gold membership code that comes with Gears of War 2, is to hit the X button. Only that pop-up menu allows you to redeem codes, the other screens (that are the logical place to download content and pay for content) expect you to pay cash. I wonder how many people gave up trying to find the redemption page and just bought the Gold membership?
