i cant figure out how to make the microphone work on the xbox 360
when i go to make a band on rockband 2 i cant activate the microphone to make a band member

The microphone player needs to use an Xbox controller (the same controller you use with most games). If you start the game by putting in the disk, there will not necessarily be an activated controller. Press the silver X button on front of the controller. It is in the center/top section of the controller. When you press it, it will light up and a light will spin around until it finds an open spot. When it connects, the light will stop spinning. The controller now provides the selection mechanism for the microphone and you are ready to sing away.
You have to have a controller to activate the microphone, you can't do it with the mic alone.
