Sure thay can but it matters most on what you problem is the towel trick works if you have the older xbox core system when it has 3 red lights you wrap it with a towel and let it run for about 10 min and it will overheat and reset. the lights go away for a while. Most dont want to try because it can make your xbox worse. It is a risk you have to take.
